At the Grigorovshchyna checkpoint, Vitebsk customs officers established the fact of illegal import of a DAF tractor and a KOGEL semi-trailer disguised as EAEU vehicles.
The coupling under the control of the driver of the Kyrgyz carrier was traveling from Latvia.
During customs control, the customs officers had suspicions about the authenticity of the VIN numbers, so the vehicles were sent for examination.
According to the expert opinion of the Novopolotsk Interdistrict department of the SFEC, the marking designations of the VIN numbers of both the tractor and the semi-trailer were intentionally changed.
During subsequent verification measures, customs officers found that, using registration plates and documents belonging to completely different cars, foreign vehicles were trying to pass off as already registered in the EAEU.
A tractor and a semi-trailer with a total value of more than 97 thousand bel. rubles were seized.
Vitebsk Customs has initiated an administrative process against the carrier in accordance with Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus.
According to the sanction of the article, he faces a fine of up to 500 basic units with possible confiscation of the coupling.
