Three months later, the Operational Customs officers stopped the second criminal scheme for moving across the border and selling electric and hybrid cars. This time, the Belarusian company imported more than 100 premium Li, Mazda, Nissan, Polar Stone and other vehicles.
For customs clearance, the attackers submitted documents containing information about the following cars for personal use to the address of fake individuals. After that, they were re-implemented through the company.
On average, savings on customs payments and recycling fees for each car ranged from 60 to 80 thousand Belarusian rubles. The total damage to the state eventually amounted to about 7 million Belarusian rubles.
In order to repay it, more than 40 vehicles worth about 7 million Belarusian rubles were seized.
A criminal case has been opened against citizens of the Republic of Belarus and foreign citizens acting as a group of persons by prior agreement under Part 2 of Article 231 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
The sanction of the article provides for criminal liability up to imprisonment for a period of six years.
