Officers of the Minsk Regional Customs established the fact of entry into the territory of the EAEU in order to understate the customs payments due for some goods under the guise of others.

The truck of the Kazakh carrier, which, according to the accompanying documents, contained a combined cargo weighing 20.5 tons, arrived from Kazakhstan for customs clearance at the Minsk-TLC-2 customs clearance point.

Customs officials questioned the accuracy of the reported information, analyzing the image obtained during content scanning using an inspection complex.

Upon further inspection, it was found that more than half of the goods, which is about 360 thousand pieces of clothing and shoes, auto parts, electrical equipment, kitchen utensils and other, were listed in documents under different names.

The value of illegally imported goods amounted to more than 3.3 million Belarusian rubles. The declaration of incorrect information about them would have saved more than 220,000 Belarusian rubles on customs payments.

Due to this fact, the customs office has initiated an administrative process in accordance with Part 1 of Article 15.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus regarding the carrier. The penalty of the article provides for a fine equal to 30% of the value of the object of an administrative offence.
