As part of a two-day working visit to the Brest customs region, Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky, in addition to participating in the grand opening of the reconstructed waiting area, inspected the Brest checkpoint located near it, the Brest-Beltamozhservice-3 shopping center, held a meeting with Brest Customs personnel and the mini-football team «Mercury-SCC».
Pyotr Parkhomchik, Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, and Alexander Lomsky, Assistant to the President and Inspector for the Brest Region, arrived at the checkpoint together with the head of the customs department.
The guests got acquainted with the capabilities of a mobile X-ray installation for baggage inspection, a mobile X-ray inspection complex, and studied the operation of the country's only automatic distribution mechanism for vehicles through channels.
On the territory of the transport and logistics center, the functional features and workload of the customs warehouse, temporary storage warehouse and the overall capabilities of the facility's infrastructure were assessed.
They got acquainted with the construction of a new container site and ramps for loading and unloading operations.
At a meeting with the staff of Brest Customs, Vladimir Orlovsky thanked the staff for their professionalism and achievement of high performance, and presented departmental awards.
The Chairman of the SCC noted the results of «Mercury-SCC» in the current season of the Belarusian futsal championship among major league teams, where for the first time in its history the customs team will continue to compete for medals in the playoff round, wishing the athletes good luck in the final key matches.
