Brest customs officers have stopped two cases of illegal movement of plant protection products from Poland. The citizens, having given the pesticides prohibited for import by individuals the appearance of permitted fertilizers, followed the green corridor of the Brest checkpoint.
In the first case, the driver of the car tried to deceive Brest customs officers by hiding the prohibited drug in a canister labeled "OSD Cynknawozdolistny". The contents of this label are zinc foliar fertilizers.
The customs examination found that instead of the fertilizer allowed for import, there was a plant protection product in the container.
A similar incident occurred with a passenger of another vehicle who was importing an identical canister. The examination confirmed once again that the liquid poured into the container is a pesticide in terms of its qualitative and chemical composition.
Brest Customs has initiated administrative processes in accordance with Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus (movement of goods subject to customs declaration, with concealment from customs control, with giving some goods the appearance of other goods).
The sanction of the article provides for the imposition of a fine of up to 30 basic units with or without confiscation of hidden goods.
