Brest Customs has opened a criminal case against a 49-year-old passenger of an international bus who attempted to import drugs into the territory of the EAEU.

The woman was traveling through the "Brest" checkpoint by the Wroclaw-Gomel bus. The possible presence of illegal substances in the passenger seat, which she occupied, was indicated by a service dog. Upon visual inspection, nothing was found.

The woman herself proceeded to the customs clearance hall, where she personally attracted the attention of the service dog. She answered the direct question of the customs officer about the presence of prohibited substances in her possession in the negative.

During the search, a plastic container packed in a sock with substances similar to drugs was found in the inner pocket of the citizen's jacket.

An examination by the Office of the State Committee for Forensic Examinations in the Brest region confirmed that the container contained marijuana and hashish with a total weight of 3.46 grams.

Brest Customs has opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 328-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, the sanction of which provides for punishment up to seven years in prison.
