An attempt to illegally move cold weapons across the customs border was stopped by Grodno customs officers at the Benyakoni checkpoint.

It was imported by a 47-year-old VOLVO car driver who arrived from Lithuania.

He followed the red corridor of the checkpoint, where he submitted a passenger customs declaration for the temporary importation of a vehicle and reported the absence of other goods subject to declaration.

It was only during the inspection of the car that customs officers found a saber with a scabbard. An expert from the Customs Laboratory confirmed that the seized item was classified as a cold weapon.

The Grodno regional customs has initiated an administrative process against the citizen under Part 1 of Article 15.5 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus.
