A rare 1947 car was illegally exported out of Belarus without the necessary documents. The illegal export of a vehicle of cultural value was revealed by Grodno customs officers at the Kamenny Log checkpoint.
A citizen of the Russian Federation was traveling to Lithuania in such a passenger car of the ZIS 110 brand. By choosing the "green corridor", the driver confirmed that he had no goods subject to mandatory declaration.
During customs control, customs officers drew attention to the release date of the car indicated in the technical passport. The car was released in 1947, and vehicles manufactured before January 1, 1951, belong to the category of cultural property. When moving such vehicles across the customs border, they must be declared without fail, as well as have a special permit document with them (Decision of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission dated April 21, 2015 No. 30 "On non-tariff regulation measures").
The fact that the vehicle belongs to the category of cultural property was confirmed by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, where a corresponding request was made.
The cost of an undeclared rare car was about 610 thousand rubles.
The Grodno Regional Customs has initiated an administrative process in respect of a Russian citizen in accordance with Part 4 of Article 15.5 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus (non-declaration or submission of false information about goods). The sanction of the article provides for a fine of up to 30% of the value of the undeclared goods.
