MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – Over 500 amendments have been elaborated for the Customs Code of the Customs Union, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Sergei Borisyuk said on 26 June as he met with economic operators to discuss topical issues of customs administration, BelTA has learnt.
“Over 500 amendments have been prepared for the Customs Code of the Customs Union, many of them deal with technicalities and have a specifying nature; however, there are some major ones. This week the amendments will be coordinated, after that domestic procedures on passing these amendments will start,” Sergei Borisyuk said. The amendments are to come in force on 1 January 2013. After that the countries will keep improving the Customs Union legislation. The Customs Code will settle all the issues related to customs checks.
